How to use icons in Google Slides

  1. 1

    Pick your theme color

Set the color picker above to your slide theme's text or accent color. Copy the hex code from Slides (Format options) if you want an exact match.

  2. 2

    Download PNG at 512px

Open an icon, choose 512px and download. The background is transparent, so it sits cleanly on any slide color.

  3. 3

    Insert in Slides

Insert, Image, Upload from computer. You can also drag the PNG straight from your downloads into the slide.

  4. 4

    Resize with Shift

Hold Shift while dragging a corner to keep the icon square. Line icons look best when they are all the same size on a slide.

Tips

  • Google Slides cannot recolor a PNG. Download a second copy in your accent color for the icon you want to highlight.
  • For dark slides, pick white or a light tint before downloading.
  • Teachers: the education and school subject sets cover most lesson topics, from math to music.
