How to use icons in Canva

  1. 1

    Pick a color first

Set the color above to match your design. If you upload PNGs, the color you pick here is the color you get in Canva.

  2. 2

    Download

Download the SVG, or a 512px PNG (1024px for print and posters). Both have transparent backgrounds.

  3. 3

    Upload to Canva

In the editor, open Uploads, choose Upload files and select your icons. They stay in your uploads for every future design.

  4. 4

    Place and recolor

Drag an icon onto the design. An uploaded SVG can often be recolored with the color tile in the toolbar; a PNG keeps the color you downloaded.

Tips

  • Download a whole row at once (for example all icons for a menu) so they share size and color from the start.
  • For print, use 1024px PNGs or SVG so nothing looks soft at 300 dpi.
  • Group each icon with its label in Canva so they move and resize together.

Questions

Can I upload SVG icons to Canva?

Canva accepts SVG uploads, and uploaded SVGs can often be recolored in the editor. If SVG upload is not available on your plan, use a transparent PNG at 512px or larger.

Can I use these icons in Canva designs I sell or print?

Yes, in finished designs such as flyers, menus, posts and products. Selling the icons themselves or as a Canva element pack is not allowed.

Do I need to credit Icon Pantry in my Canva design?

No. Attribution is not required.
